Lisa Otey

Lisa provides music for the whole school. In addition to teaching performance, music appreciation, and songwriting, she will be helping students reach their individual musical goals and record their music.

Lisa is a professional musician who has been called a blues / jazz diva extraordinaire by the Arizona Daily Star. She has taught music in the schools in Arizona for twenty years, focusing on music education, performance, and improvisation. She also gives improvisation workshops when she is on tour in Europe. As well as a teacher and performer, Lisa records and produces CDs and DVDs on her own label, Owl s Nest Productions. Lisa is looking forward to her first year at Kino.

 

Lisa was voted Tucson's Best Local Performing Artist of 2007 in the Tucson Weekly's annual Best of Tucson awards!
